Genealogy/Local History

Local histories, newspapers, cemetery records, microfilm, periodicals, family histories, obituaries, and Kentucky history books may be used in the genealogy area. They are non-circulating, except through interlibrary loan to other libraries for in-library use only. To preserve the books, there will be no eating or drinking in the genealogy area. A microfilm reader-printer is provided for reading or making photocopies of microfilm and a photocopier is available for print resources. Current copying charges will apply. Rebecca Brothers, our genealogist, is ready to assist you. If you wish to access Genealogy when our genealogist is not on site, please contact Rebecca to make arrangements. If you are traveling from out of state and require assistance, please contact Rebecca to arrange a meeting time during regular library hours.
